Newly released cellphone footage obtained by Alpha News shows the moments before a U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement agent fatally shot 37-year-old Minneapolis resident Renée Nicole Good on Wednesday. In the video, Good can be heard telling the agent “It’s fine dude, I’m not mad at you” seconds before the officer fired three shots that killed her.
The footage appears to have been filmed by the agent, identified as Jonathan Ross, who is believed to be the one who fired the shots.
The video shows the agent getting out of his vehicle and approaching Good’s red Honda SUV, circling her car while filming her face and license plate.
The video then shows Good attempting to drive away from the agents before several shots are fired.
Following the shooting, the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) defended the officer’s actions, stating on X: “An ICE officer, fearing for his life, the lives of his fellow law enforcement and the safety of the public, fired defensive shots. He used his training and saved his own life and that of his fellow officers.”
The killing of Renee Good sparked renewed anti-ICE protests nationwide, with rallies taking place in major cities across the country.
