Luigi Mangione’s Legal Defense Fund Surpasses $1.4 Million in Donations

Luigi Mangione’s Legal Defense Fund Tops $1.4 Million in Donations

With donations pouring in every day, Luigi Mangione’s official legal fund has now raised over $1.4 million dollars, inching his legal team closer to the goal of $1.5 million.

The milestone was reached on January 1 after a surge in donations for the New Year.

The legal fund is hosted on GiveSendGo, and is managed by Mangione’s attorneys.

“Luigi and his team are accepting the funds which will be disbursed to Luigi’s attorneys who will be handling the extensive expenses associated with the legal defense for three separate, unprecedented pending criminal cases:

  • People of the state of New York V Luigi Mangione
  • United States of America versus Luigi Nicholas Mangione
  • Commonwealth of Pennsylvania versus Luigi Nicholas Mangione”

Authorities allege that Mangione shot and killed UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson in New York in December 2024. Mangione was taken into custody in Altoona, Pennsylvania and was charged with multiple state and federal charges related to the killing of Brian Thompson.

In September, a judge dismissed Mangione’s terrorism related murder charges in New York, stating “the evidence put forth before the Grand Jury was legally insufficient for those charges.”

The judge kept Mangione’s murder in the second degree charge. Mangione has pleaded not guilty to the charges.

“Luigi and his legal team have officially accepted the funds and, while Tom Dickey is Luigi’s attorney in one of the cases, Karen Friedman Agnifilo is representing Luigi, and the funds will be used across all three cases” the donation campaign states.

“This fund is irrefutable evidence of the public’s support for Luigi and their consciousness that he is being treated in an unprecedented and unfair fashion by a state acting out of cowardice and fear to make a spectacle of his case in an attempt to intimidate us all into submission to state and corporate power.”
